The weather is unusually hot this week with temperature averaging 7-8 degrees above normal. The tree fruit is ripening between one and two weeks earlier then usual. Several vegetable varieties are also advanced because of the weather. This is not a bad thing but it makes our lives very busy right now. Most of the summer help is going back to school this week which also adds to the workload for us. The crops continue to look great for the fall. We hope you enjoyed last weeks box with the few unusual things it contained. YouTube can be a great source of information on how to cook foods your not so familiar with. This week also promises to bring lots of good food to you. We will return carrots to the boxes this week and a few other standards... apples, pears, plum, field tomatoes and more.
