The CSA boxes that we will deliver this week will be the last box of 2019. Because both Christmas and New years day fall on Wednesday we have decided to take two weeks of CSA delivery off and resume deliveries on Jan 8, 2020. We hope that this will work for the majority of our CSA members. Overall I would say that 2019 was a good growing year although a very strange weather year. We had a very wet and cold spring but the summer and fall were much better. Our apple crop was very small and we had some damage from the hurricane as well. Vegetables were generally very good and our winter storage crops are nice. We do have a good crop of winter greens in the coldframes like spinach, mache, baby kale, arugula, and some Asian greens. Our storage crops like cabbages, nappas, turnips, parsnips, various carrots, squash, leeks, daikon, and lots of other crops look great at this point. The CSA boxes should be similar to past winters but with less apples over the next two to three months. There will be lots of greens by early March. Enjoy the sun over the next couple days. Have a good week. ted
