I just returned from the market in Lunenburg a few minutes ago and that means that I am all finished markets for the 2014 year. Time to celebrate Christmas, relax a bit, and gain some weight.
The season this year ended up being about average in the end. We had an unusually difficult spring and early summer but the fall crops were very good and the fall weather lasted very late (and continues to be fall-like). We have decided to not send any CSA boxes over the holidays. Both Christmas eve and New Years eve fall on wednesday this year and local source will be closing early both days. I would also like to have some time off and Gordon (my full-time employee) is taking some well deserved vacation time as well.
We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and hope that you can spend some time with family and friends. Thank you for your involvement in our CSA and for supporting the farm, our family, and the people from our community and area who work with us on the farm.
