Hutten Family Farm is owned and operated by Ted & Debra Hutten, along with our three
daughters: Katherine, Sarah, and Aleida.
Located at Lakeville, ten miles northwest of Kentville, against the North Mountain slope, we
grow tree fruits like apples, pears, cherries and plums, some small fruits, and numerous
vegetables
including many speciality varieties.
Current production: We grow our crops both on the land and in nine or ten greenhouses,
depending on the time of year. No heating fuel is used except wood cut on the farm. Spinach
and
other greens are available even during much of the winter. In fall, you'll find two dozen or
more apple varieties on our tables at the Saturday morning Halifax Brewery Farmers Market.
Community Supported Agriculture: In 2010 we introduced a CSA program. With our CSA you
are able to sign up for weekly boxes of food, whose contents vary
with the season. See the How our CSA Works section for more
information.
Contact Us: If you have any questions or would like to contact us for any reason, you
can email Ted or Debra.
