Hutten Family Farm Newsletter for Monday Jun 20, 2016

With this warm weather we are beginning to see some changes in the fields. We are starting with bunched carrots and beets now as well as a few snap peas and snow peas. We have kohlrabi and daikon ready for over a week now with broccoli and arrowhead cabbage coming very soon. This morning we removed the row covers off of the zucchini and patty pan squash. I hope to start picking them later this week. Tomatoes and eggplants and peppers are all growing well with this heat. There will be very little in Asian greens or turnips for at least a couple of weeks until the later plantings start up again. I have a bit of a window in production of some things right now.
The berry crops look good as well although it is getting quite dry now. A good rain would increase the size of a lot of the berries. Hopefully something will materialize in the next few days.
My lunch is finished cooking. Time to eat and go back to the field.
     Have a good week.
