Hutten Family Farm Newsletter for Sunday Jul 11, 2010

Hi everyone, hope your enjoy this hot sticky weather as much as the eggplant in the field. As of eight pm sunday we have over two inches of rain. We began picking cherries this past Wednesday and because of the rain may be finished soon. For most of our crops this rain is great but it also causes the cherries to split.

The kids have found a few ripe blueberries in the patch and have eaten them with great enthusiasm. We will be picking raspberries several days this week. All the vegetables are growing well also. Last week we had hoped to have included cucumbers in the boxes but we did not have enough. This week looks better.

Boxes this week should contain bunched carrots, broccoli, onions, berries, lettuce, baby pak choi, beans, patty pan squash, and maybe something else.
