Hutten Family Farm Newsletter for Friday Nov 30, 2012

I guess that winter must be here. This seems to be very unusual to have a solid week of below freezing temperatures in November. We tried to pick Russian and Toscano kales all week but did not succeed. Hopefully with much warmer weather in the forecast over the next week or so we will be able to harvest the last few things out of the fields.Thankfully the heated greenhouse continues to produce some micro greens even when the outside crops are frozen solid.
The good thing about the cold is that I had more time this week to focus on making wreaths. I just finished the last of them a couple hours ago and will be loading them on the trucks tomorrow morning at 3 am. For people living in Halifax, this week and next will be the two best weeks to purchase wreaths from the farmers market at the brewery. Besides myself, there are about four other wreath sellers at the brewery. If this snow and cold make you miserable and grumpy then try to think holiday thoughts. I'm going to bed now. Goodnight.
